Individualized Lessons Targeted to Your Child’s Needs

All tutoring sessions directly correspond to the subject matter your child is learning in the classroom.

I will meet with you and your child to create an action plan and discuss your child’s strengths, needs, and educational goals. Students are regularly assessed so we can track progress and guide future instruction.

What to Expect:

  • Thoughtfully created lesson plans and activities in the subject areas of Math, Reading, Writing, and Spelling that directly correspond to New York State Learning Standards

  • Regular assessments and goal setting (personal, cumulative files kept on each student)

  • Parent conferencing to discuss child’s performance and progress

  • Homework and classwork assistance

  • Test preparation and study skills

  • A safe, enjoyable, and educational experience for your child

Does My Child Need a Tutor?

There is a common misconception that only struggling students require a tutor and this couldn’t be further from the truth!

Private tutoring is an incredible investment in your child’s education and future. Private tutoring offers your child the individualized attention that isn’t possible in the classroom. Tutoring is personal, hands-on, and gives students the support they need to help them reach their potential.

My tutoring services are offered year round, including the summer, when many students risk falling behind.

So, which students will benefit from a tutor?

  • Any student who wishes to increase their content knowledge and solidify skills through practice and one-on-one instruction

  • Advanced students looking for a challenge and aiming to go beyond the basic content knowledge taught in a whole-class setting

  • Students who have trouble focusing in the whole-class setting

  • Students struggling in one or more subject areas (i.e. Math, Reading, Writing, or Spelling)

  • Students at-risk of falling behind over the summer or due to distance learning (retention is so important!)

  • Students who thrive in one-on-one learning settings (most students need this to supplement in-class instruction)

  • Students with disabilities who require additional instructional strategies, differentiation, and supports

  • Students looking to build confidence and self-esteem

Put Your Child’s Education First

Parents, I know how demanding life can be. Suddenly, you’re expected to become your child’s teacher in addition to all of your other responsibilities. Many parents are feeling overwhelmed, so you’re not alone!

I’m here to take some of that frustration away. With my flexible tutoring options and availability, I will work with your schedule, not the other way around.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe in inclusivity because every child deserves a rich and valuable education. I respect that each student learns in their own way, and I differentiate my instruction to account for everyone.

I am an advocate for kindness, positivity, and hard work.

My students know that I am there for them, I support them, and I believe in them. My classroom is a place where students can speak without fear of judgement.

I provide positive reinforcement and motivation as much as possible. I believe in patience, determination, and giving students opportunities to problem solve.

I encourage critical thinking, creativity, and discovery. My goal is to help my students reach their full potential. I want to help raise empathetic, thoughtful, and passionate learners.

We never stop learning, and my students and I learn from each other. I want to inspire my students to be lifelong learners.

“Thanks for being so flexible. He is very lucky to have you.”
